Things We Are Working On

Hope in Action — Building New Opportunities

At NWOCO, we’re always dreaming, building, and moving forward. We believe that faith, skills, and community come alive when we roll up our sleeves and get to work — together.

Here’s a glimpse of some of the projects and dreams we’re bringing to life!

1. Youth Skills Training & Mentorship Programs

We are developing hands-on vocational training workshops designed specifically for young men and women.
These programs introduce practical trades, computer skills, business basics, and leadership principles — preparing youth for real-world success while nurturing their God-given gifts.

  • Workshop Examples:

    • Basic Handyman Skills

    • Introduction to Business & Entrepreneurship

    • Computer Literacy & Microsoft Office Essentials

    • First Aid and Emergency Preparedness

  • Mentorship Circles: Connect youth with positive mentors who walk with them through career and life discernment.

2. Summer Day Camps — Faith, Fun, and Skills

We are planning summer and seasonal day camps that mix faith, fun, and skill-building!

  • Trades Exploration Days: Try out carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and more in a safe and supportive environment.

  • Creative Arts Days: Painting, woodcraft, design, and storytelling — letting young hearts express their talents.

  • Outdoor Skills Camps: Basic survival, gardening, and stewardship of creation. (Sponsored by Black Swamp Conservation League)

  • Faith and Fellowship Days: Team-building, prayer, reflection, and joyful activities to deepen faith and friendships.

Each camp day is designed to nourish both hands and hearts.

3. Career Launchpad for Young Adults

Coming soon: a special program for ages 16–24 focused on bridging the gap between education and career.
  • Resume building workshops

  • Interview coaching

  • Financial literacy and budgeting classes

  • Business start-up training for young entrepreneurs

4. Community Work Projects

We are planning real-life service opportunities where youth and adults work together to:

  • Help repair homes for elderly residents

  • Beautify parks and community spaces

  • Serve at food pantries or ministry outreach events

It’s hands-on faith in action — and a way to put new skills to work for the good of others.

5. Faith & Fire Studio - Youth Podcasting Program

We’re expanding our media outreach to include youth voices!
Young people will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn audio and video production basics

  • Record podcasts on faith, perseverance, leadership, and hope

  • Build communication skills in a positive, Christ-centered environment

Other Future Projects in the Works

  • Youth Leadership Councils: Give teens a voice in shaping programs and leading service projects.

  • Father-Son / Mother-Daughter Skill Days: Workshops that build family bonds while passing on important life skills.

  • Retreats for Reflection and Renewal: Weekend retreats to strengthen faith and purpose.

  • Scholarships for Trade School Advancement: Partnering with donors to fund further education for deserving youth and adults.

Why We Dream Big

Because every skill learned…
every moment of fellowship shared…
every hand extended in service…
becomes a building block for a stronger, more hopeful world.

Together, we are planting seeds that will bear fruit for generations.
